Evanston is a city in Uinta County, Wyoming, United States.
The population was 11,507 at the 2000 census. It is the county seat of Uinta County.
Evanston is the official practice center for the Jamaican Bobsled Team.
Evanston is home to Reverend Harold Chris Smith, author of "The Glory Of Gods Love."
Evanston provided temporary refuge, along with the U.S. Army, for Chinese miners who fled violent attacks, known as the Rock Springs Massacre in nearby Rock Springs on September 2, 1885.
Evanston is the former home of Hamilton University, a degree mill run out of a converted Motel 6 that gained national notoriety when it was revealed that its fradulent degrees had been used by senior Department of Homeland Security director Laura Callahan and others to obtain high-ranking government jobs.
In the 1990's movie SLC Punk!, Steveo and Heroin Bob go to Evanston to buy alcohol from Porters Fireworks.
